Two Handle Faucets:

Stems and Cartridges
	Two handle plastic stem	As you turn the hot or cold handle, observe it at eye level: Your faucet is equipped with a STEM if the handle moves UP when you turn it counter-clockwise and DOWN when you turn it clockwise. Your faucet is equipped with a CARTRIDGE if the handle moves DOWN when you turn it counter-clockwise and UP when you turn it clockwise. Your 2 handle faucet has a stem if you see a brass part when you remove the handle.

Single Handle Faucets:
	Cartridges for single handle brass and plastic faucets.	All single handle faucets have a washerless cartridge installed. There are three types. The pull-out faucets have a cartridge designed especially for them. All other single handle faucets have a cartridge made for either a plastic or brass underbody. *(See underbodies below .)*

Underbodies
Plastic:
	Single Handle Lavatory plastic underbody.		Single Handle Kitchen with NO SPRAY plastic underbody. *(See P1101 below.)*
	Single Handle Kitchen WITH SPRAY plastic underbody. *(See P1103 below.)*
P1101 and P1103 underbodies:
		The P1101 and P1103 underbodies look very similar. Because they both use a center shank to secure the faucet to the sink, it may look like they can both accomodate a side spray. However, the P1103 has an additional, smaller set of threads at the end of its center shank. This smaller set of threads is for attaching the side spray hose. The P1101 shank is hollow and appears to have a waterway which it does not. There is no opening to the faucet cartridge so it cannot leak.
